Dear Parents,
This is an important and special year for you and your child!! As your child's teacher, I am eager to have you become involved in your child's education. Your child needs your involvement to insure his/her success. I need your involvement to enable me to provide the best education possible. We are a team!!!
Your child will have assignments for homework twice a week. These assignments will include skills and concepts we are currently working to master in the classroom. For example, activities to work on the vowels were are focusing on that week, flash cards of each level vowel sounds and blends, spelling dictation (including the sentences), reading comprehension questions, and writing practice using the skills we are working on and have worked on previously. Your one-on-one help and encouragement will be a great benefit to your child.
I would like to encourage you to also become involved in our classroom. This involvement can be done on a regular basis as a classroom helper. It can also be done occasionally as a field trip helper, a guest reader, a party parent, or as a special activity helper. Please take a minute to fill out the form on this blog on how you would like to help out. I will contact you in a couple of weeks to make arrangements.
